.Senior.Session.

November 9th, 2008

Senior “H” was totally awesome with her session, she was a natural when it came to posing and modeling!  I was so excited for this session last Sunday, but the weather was such a bummer, so we had to postpone it to today.  The weather was so awesome today, it made the session so much fun!  The fall colors really came out in her photos.  We started with a “Rock that Dress” session and then went to her senior session.  I am so excited to work on the rest!! :-D

Oh my goodness, I loved her blue eyes!

MEOW! :-D

Talk about adorable!

Reminds me of a teen clothing catalog

Looks like she’s in Europe

LOVE IT!

I love the wind in her hair!!

What a trooper!  It was a brisk evening and we were all getting cold, but she pulled through and got these awesome looks!  I was so happy!  Thanks again to Senior “H” and her mom for coming out her session!!

.New and improved.

November 6th, 2008

Okay, just want to post a blog before I head off to work this morning.  My new and improved website is up and running, thanks to bludomain (i *heart* blu!)  anyway, check it out!  there’s some things i want to still change on it, but this will do for now.  thanks!

.Election 2008.

November 4th, 2008

Today marks a big day in political history, as 2 candidates, McCain and Obama, end the fight on who will be the next US President.  Honestly, I will feel relieved once this is all over.  The political ads will fade away, the mudslinging will end, and the news stations will air other things besides the election.  I think whoever becomes President tonight, there will be possibility of change and a better economy, and the last 8 years under Bush’s term will just be history.  Vote for the person who you believe will get the job done and will bring some relief in the next 4 years.  So go out there and vote!

.So touching.

I just love my photography job, (definitely more than my day job) and it really feels good when you get a comment from a client who really appreciates what you did for them.  I took some bits out of the original email so you can get a feel of what she felt as she looked through her daughter’s senior photos:

“The pictures are GREAT Diane!  I love them so much.  You’ve really captured our baby!  Well don’t tell her we called her a baby, you know that’s not cool, as they would have it… I am so proud of “N” she did great!  And you were so wonderful to capture her just as we see her.  Blossoming into a wonderful young woman who is definitely going places.  That’s what I think of when I looked at them….actually I had to fight back the tears… I’ve always prided myself into working hard, setting examples she can follow and making sure she knew who she was.  Teaching her that her individuality should be defined solely from within… she’s turned out to be a wonderfully grounded young woman that I am SO PROUD of… but I just felt like you needed to know what you captured for me!  It is truly an honor for us to have experienced your craft.”

I was really blessed when I read her email and so touched by her words, it was really beautiful!  :-)  It’s getting comments like these that you know as a photographer, you really accomplished something and really touched someone.  Hopefully I can continue to capture moments that matter so much to parents and family!

Thanks!

.Portrait session-FINAL date.

October 24th, 2008

Just letting anyone who’s interested in booking a session with me that the last day to do them is Nov. 16th.  I’m surprised how busy of an October it has been with some last minute sessions, working on trying to finish up orders in time for the holidays, and just doing photography business/work related things.  Eek!  There’s some spots left in Novemeber so take them as fast as you can.  Thanks!! :-D

.Random.Monday.

October 20th, 2008

Ah, yes, it’s Monday….

Not much to report, except for these hilarious “Saturday Night Live” videos.  Apparently, Sarah Palin was a guest star, and Tina Fey, like always, did her impersonation of her.  But this time, BOTH of them showed up.  Check it out!

Just scroll down the article, and the 2 videos are there.  The second video will make you laughing and rolling on the floor, as a giant moose comes out.  Enjoy!

.Senior.Session.

October 19th, 2008

Senior .N. was totally awesome in her session!  I might have to call up Tyra Banks and tell her that my senior will need to be on the next season of “America’s Next Top Model.”  She looked like a natural when I told her to pose.  She knew how to pose her body and her arms, and looked like a model.  She looks absolutely gorgeous in her photos, and I just loved her hair color!  Three words describe her: cool, chic, fabulous!  We went to the Columbia Lakefront, and the weather was perfect!  It was my first time shooting there, and it worked out great!

Really nice smile!

A parking garage makes a great backdrop

Beautiful sun, beautiful girl!

Work it girl!

:-D

Thanks for an awesome session, Senior .N.!  You did a fabulous job with everything, and great location too! :-)

.Lots of Kids.

October 14th, 2008

When I first got emails from Mrs. .B., the subject line said “Lots of kids.”  So it got me pretty curious as to how many kids she was talking about.  As I read her email, she said that there would be 9 of them, ages ranging from 4-16 years old.  Oye!  It sounded like a challenge, and it sounded like it would a lot of fun!  We had the session over the weekend at McCrillis Gardens.  Also, my new intern, Liron, came along to help me out (More about my new intern soon to come!)  She did a great job for her first assignment :-)

Back to the kids, they were energetic and such a joy to have around!  They were silly, funny, goofy at times, and just being themselves.  The kids, in relation, are all cousins, and it was really nice to see the closeness between all of them :-D

Here’s everyone!

Angelic

The following couple of shots were by my intern, and I really loved the perspective on this one:

Thanks everyone for doing an awesome job!  It was exhausting afterwards, but I had a lot of fun, and it was great meeting everyone!

.Senior.Session.

October 11th, 2008

A talent on the piano, a lacrosse player, a friendly smile, a great personality, and a senior in high school.  Oh, forgot to mention, a wonderful model for her senior session today!  Senior .M. did some homework before her session and really loved the looks in the J. Crew catalog.  She marked the pages of the catalog of the kinds of poses that appealed to her and we tried them out.  She definitely looked like she could be in the catalog :-D .  We started the session at her friend’s house, where there was a really nice grand piano.  As you can see in the photo, I noticed a folding screen that had a sheet music design, and it became a really cool backdrop.

I loved that little bit of reflection on the piano

Very awesome folding screen.  I wonder where she got that??

Good ol’ Ellicott City

:-D

Work it girlfriend! ;-)

This one’s for you Mom, since I know you loved it!

Thanks to Senior .M. and her mom!  The session was absolutely fabulous and I can’t wait to work on the rest of the photos!
